She walked on stage smelling like pizza.
By the time she left, the judges told her to quit her job for good.
Summer Rios, 19, from Brunswick, Ohio, managed a Pizza Hut. She cut pizzas, closed late, and still dreamed of singing. Anxiety held her back for years. On America’s Got Talent, she finally took the risk.
“I’ve been singing since I was four,” she told the judges. “I’m hoping this will get me out of pizza cutting.”
Then she opened her mouth.
Her voice filled the theater — rich, emotional, and powerful. The crowd rose. The judges locked in. One looked straight at her and said the line that went viral:
**“You know Summer, I think you should be doing this more than slicing pizza.”**
Another added she belonged on a stage, not behind a counter. “Don’t waste more time. Live your best life.”
All four judges said yes.
Summer’s eyes filled with tears. “I’m so ready. I’m so done with cutting pizzas. I smell like pizza every night and I don’t want to do that.”
