When a tiny, curly-haired seven-year-old walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage holding a stuffed animal, the audience immediately melted. But the moment the music started, Eseniia Mikheeva transformed from an adorable kid into a fierce, electrifying hip-hop dancer, delivering one of the most memorable auditions of Season eighteen.
Meet the Performer
Eseniia Mikheeva was just seven years old when she auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2023. Long before stepping onto the massive reality television stage, she was already building a dedicated following on social media for her impressive dance skills. She trains in multiple styles, including ballet, contemporary, and hip-hop, constantly working on acrobatic tricks that require massive core strength, rhythm, and flexibility.
The Performance That Captured Everyone’s Attention
During her audition, Eseniia delivered a high-octane hip-hop and acrobatic routine set to the infectious beat of “Soy Yo” by Bomba EstĂ©reo. She didn’t just dance; she commanded the stage with the presence of a seasoned professional. Her choreography was packed with impressive flips, backbends, and rapid-fire footwork.
What truly elevated the routine were her animated facial expressions. Every beat drop was matched with a sassy smirk or an intense gaze, proving she understood exactly how to perform for a massive live audience.
The Judges’ Reactions
The judges were instantly charmed before Eseniia even struck her first pose. When Sofia Vergara asked the young dancer, “Why are you so adorable?” Eseniia innocently replied, “I don’t know!” sparking laughter across the auditorium. She also revealed that despite being a little nervous, her favorite judge on the panel was Simon Cowell.
After the high-energy performance, the panel was full of praise. Heidi Klum was particularly impressed by the young girl’s stage presence, noting, “I think you are incredible. I love your dance, your tricks. What I love the most are your facial expressions. You are in there. You’re giving one hundred percent.”
The routine easily earned her four enthusiastic “Yes” votes from Cowell, Vergara, Klum, and Howie Mandel.
The Emotional Story Behind the Performance
Despite her massive talent, Eseniia still carried the sweetness of a typical first grader. She brought her stuffed toy dog, whom she introduced to the judges as “Linda,” onto the stage for comfort. Watching proudly from the wings were her parents, who waved to the audience as the judges praised their daughter’s undeniable talent and hard work.
What Happened Next?
Eseniia’s journey on America’s Got Talent didn’t end with her audition. She advanced through the competition, bringing her high-energy dance routines all the way to the live shows. She ultimately performed during week five of the live semifinals. Although she was eliminated before reaching the grand finale, her exposure on the show catapulted her profile, leading to appearances on daytime talk shows like The Jennifer Hudson Show and millions of views across her family-run social media channels.
