Eseniia Mikheeva Takes the AGT Stage
Eseniia Mikheeva appeared as a seven-year-old dancer during the Season 18 auditions of America’s Got Talent. Contemporary coverage identified her as a dancer from Russia, and her audition quickly attracted attention because of the contrast between her sweet personality and the confidence she displayed once she began performing.
Before the routine began, Sofia Vergara even asked Eseniia why she was so adorable. Her simple response added to the lighthearted atmosphere before the performance took a completely different direction.
Eseniia had come to the stage to dance, and she wasted little time showing what she could do.
A High-Energy Hip-Hop Performance
The routine was performed to “Soy Yo” by Bomba Estéreo, according to coverage of the audition. Eseniia combined hip-hop movements with an impressive amount of energy and personality.
One of the most noticeable elements of the performance was her facial expressions. She wasn’t simply moving through choreography; she performed with a playful attitude that made the routine feel bigger than her age might suggest.
She also incorporated acrobatic elements into the performance, including backflips and splits. Those moments helped turn the audition from a cute introduction into a serious dance showcase.
The Judges Were Impressed
Eseniia’s performance earned a strong reaction from the judges and audience.
Parade reported that Sofia Vergara, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel were among the judges watching the audition, while Talent Recap reported that the entire panel gave Eseniia a standing ovation.
Vergara praised the young dancer by calling her a “mini-mini star already.” Heidi Klum also highlighted Eseniia’s dancing, tricks, and facial expressions.
Those comments reflected one of the most distinctive aspects of the audition: Eseniia wasn’t relying only on difficult dance moves. Her personality was an important part of the performance.
Why Eseniia’s Performance Stood Out
Young performers often attract attention simply because of their age, but Eseniia’s audition offered something beyond that initial surprise.
Her confidence onstage, energetic choreography, acrobatic ability, and expressive performance style worked together to create an entertaining routine.
The contrast was particularly effective. Before the music started, Eseniia appeared as a cheerful and adorable seven-year-old contestant. Once the beat dropped, she transformed into a highly energetic performer who confidently took over the stage.
That change in energy is a major reason the audition remains memorable.
Four Judges Said Yes
After the performance, Eseniia received four “Yes” votes from the judges, allowing her to advance in the competition. Contemporary coverage from Talent Recap and other entertainment outlets confirms the unanimous result.
Her journey later continued beyond the initial audition. Eseniia ultimately reached the semifinals of Season 18, according to the available competition records.
The audition therefore became more than a viral dance moment. It was the beginning of Eseniia’s appearance on one of television’s biggest talent stages.
